Here are straightforward tips to enhance the ranking of images on your website in search engines.

I’m working as an editor and quality assurance specialist. Among other things, I’ve audited landing pages for Google products. One of the most important elements that I had to pay attention to were images.

Google places great importance on images.

Recently, I received an email from one of my clients:

“Hey Mario would you take a look at my website. I need help with some images. My website has high-res images, and they are relevant to what the text is describing, have keywords and everything but neither the images nor the web page where the images are located are not ranking decently on Google. Maybe I’m missing something?”

So, how do you optimize images?

Let me first say that Google is quite good at determining what your images are about. Google can “read” your images even if they are not properly optimized. However, web pages whose images include all key ingredients will outrank web pages with lacking images no matter how relevant and beautiful those images are. Similarly, properly optimzed images will outrank lacking images.
