Keeping up with Google's algorithm and competitors is hard. I've had many pages ranked on the first page of Google, but then Google changes its algorithm or competitors come into play, and you're pushed to backstage. SEO can be rewarding, but it's not like you rank on the first page and then you remain on the first page forever.
