How To Steal Cryptocurrency
“I used to think that the day would never come. I’d see delight in the shade of the morning sun.” — This was pretty much how I thought about my crypto and the possibility of someone stealing all those sweet crypto coins from my wallet.
Unfortunately for me, the day did come, and I didn’t see any delight when the sun rose above the horizon and I realized I couldn’t access my crypto funds. It’s funny how accurately the New Order’s True Faith lyrics described my naive attitude toward crypto security and what eventually transpired.
At first, I thought, “Hmm, this must be some kind of mistake. It’s only a temporary glitch or something.” But nope, nearly $11,000 worth of cryptocurrency was no longer mine, and it wasn’t temporary. Somebody else was in charge now.
And now I could easily relate to yet another line of True Faith, “You took my time and you took my money … Now I fear you’ve left me standing … In a world that’s so demanding.”
Facing reality
I mean, I wasn’t born yesterday, I knew there was some degree of risk involved with dealing with cryptocurrencies, but I had true faith in all those security features, I believed what crypto marketplaces and investment experts were saying, I assumed it was safe to buy and trade crypto. After all, nobody would be buying and selling all those Bitcoins…
