Doing Business vs. Doing Your Romantic Partner
Working hard to make money? Want to make your significant other happy?
We want to make our business a success. We want to have a happy love life. The problem is that business consumes our time, our nerves, our attention, and everything in between. There are only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. It’s hard to balance work, spouse, children, friends…
Relationships are never easy, but an entrepreneur or any hard worker has a number of unique challenges when it comes to balancing the needs of business with those of a romantic partner.
Most of us think that we need to devote ourselves to making money, and once we achieve success, our darling will be happy too. Well, that may be true, but while we’re amassing our efforts trying to achieve victory over our business challenges, problems start to accumulate on the other front.
Nobody wants to feel neglected. And when your significant other starts to feel this way, you’re in trouble. Your spouse or your romantic partner will tolerate this for a while, but if it turns out that your business needs more time to become successful or that your already successful business is consuming too much of your life, your partner will start to look the other way and you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. A new zone of conflict will emerge.
